Samsung shareholders prepare for crucial meeting

Written by

Reeling from one of its worst publicity disasters, Samsung Electronics is preparing for a crucial shareholders meeting.

Thursday’s event could see the son of the current chairman, who has been seriously ill in hospital for two years, take on a more prominent role with a seat on the board.

Samsung is facing criticism for being too opaque and dependent on family influence.

Al Jazeera’s Harry Fawcett reports from Seoul.

  • This whole thing will follow their brand for many years to come. "Will this Samsung device explode?" can always kind of be a reasonable question.
